Our Story

About Meehan's

The Vision

Our Beginning

Meehan's Chophouse was built on a simple idea: that Mansfield deserved a world-class dining experience of its own: a place where you could sit down to a great steak, a great bottle of wine, and not have to drive to Dallas or Fort Worth to do it.

Since opening, Meehan's has drawn diners from across the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Henry's Cigar Lounge next door completes the evening exactly as intended.

The Kitchen

Chef Derek Venutolo

Executive Chef Derek Venutolo

Executive Chef Derek Venutolo brings the kind of credentials that belong in a city, not a suburb. That's exactly the point. A graduate of the Western Culinary Arts Institute, he trained under Matt Hewitt of The Bono's Restaurant Group and Shelly Borjorquez of King's Seafood Company before spending years elevating Fort Worth's Capital Grille.

He won Overall Best Food at the Big Taste of Fort Worth in 2014, and has brought that same drive to Meehan's, where the menu spans hand-selected prime cuts, New Zealand rack of lamb, butter-poached lobster, and the kind of sides that become the reason guests come back.

What distinguishes Chef Venutolo as much as his technique is his presence. He engages with guests, remembers faces, and brings the same care to every table as he does to every plate.
